Fiery Red Horse

Hooded rider with sword on a fiery red horse beside The Book of Revelation

When He opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, “Come and see.” Another horse, fiery red, went out. And it was granted to the one who sat on it to take peace from the earth, and that people should kill one another; and there was given to him a great sword. Rev (6:3-4)

Message Video – Part 2

The person riding on this fiery red horse is another diabolical spirit like that of the white horse. Notice that the power for these diabolical spirits is given to them by our LORD God. This diabolical creature does the following:

  1. It takes away peace from people’s hearts and brings anger, envy, and oppression.
  2. It influences people to harm each other, leading to violence and inhuman behavior.
  3. It also carries a sword to kill, which represents self-destruction, depression, and suicide.

This message is given to the Church by our LORD. Hence is it important to understand that we who are believers can be influenced by the spirit of the fiery red horse. So, what can we do to keep these spirits from affecting our lives today?

Do not depend on, chase after, or worship worldly wealth.
When we start to desire, seek, or worship worldly riches, the spirit of murder can take over us without us even noticing. (James 5:6 – read from the first verse for context)

But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. (1 Tim 6:10)

Do not use the grace, gifts, or talents God has given you for selfish gain or personal agendas.
This is different from chasing after wealth out of greed. The LORD God has given us many gifts and talents to help build His kingdom. This includes our jobs and the ways He provides for us and our families. (Jude 1:11 – read 10-16 for context). When we use these talents for worldly gain, we might lose our focus on really building the Kingdom of our LORD on this earth. In the end we might lose both the loving relationship we have with our LORD as well as the world that we want to pursue. Remember what happened to Judas. While his fellow disciples though he was a “thief”. Jesus made him the chief financial officer of His ministry. Why? Jesus knew Judas had a talent in managing finances. However Judas focused more on finances and lost the reality.

Do not water down God’s word or the truth just to please others.
Sometimes, we avoid telling people the plain truth of God’s word because we want to be nice. The truth may be hard to hear, but it brings real peace in the end. If we compromise or water down the truth, we might feel a false peace for a while, but it gives the enemy a chance to take away true peace. (Ezk 13:10: read the whole chapter to get the context)

Because with lies you have made the heart of the righteous sad, whom I have not made sad; and you have strengthened the hands of the wicked, so that he does not turn from his wicked way to save his life. (Ezk 13:22)

There can be no peace without true repentance.
We cannot expect peace if we hide our wrongdoings or keep our thoughts from each other. Instead, confess and repent for your thoughts and actions, both to the LORD and to others. (2 Ch 7:14, Lam 3:40-41, John 14:23-27)

If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. (2 Ch 7:14
